WEST JORDAN — When you return from your Memorial Day weekend getaway, Bangerter Highway will shrink in the south Salt Lake Valley.
Crews will reduce Bangerter to two lanes each way for 45 days between West Jordan and South Jordan to install a new barrier, to install some additional storm drainage, and to install fiber optic lines.
UDOT Engineer Marwan Farah says they’ll start in the center divider, then move out, between 7800 South and 9000 South.
This phase is part of a larger, $205-million Bangerter construction project to improve crossings.
“Traffic will have a free flow on Bangerter from approximately 4700 South all the way to 9800 South,” said Farah.
Meantime, drivers can use Mountain View Corridor and Redwood Road as alternates.
