Elizabeth Shelley was last seen about 2 a.m. Saturday morning by her mother, Logan Police Captain Tyson Budge said. According to Budge, the family discovered Elizabeth was missing along with her uncle, Alex Whipple, 21, around 10 a.m. when they woke up.

Whipple was arrested Saturday afternoon on a previous warrant for failing to appear in a probation case, but in a Facebook post, Logan police said he had so far been uncooperative with investigators. He was being held in the Cache County Jail on $25,000 bond.

Elizabeth is described as standing about 3-foot-6 with curly brown hair that falls to her shoulders and brown eyes. Police said they did not know what color shirt she was wearing, but believe she was wearing either a teal plaid skirt or blue jeans when she disappeared.

Late Saturday, Logan police were asking residents near 300 South to 100 North and 300 West to 600 West to check doorbell cameras and other surveillance footage for any activity between 2 a.m. and noon on Saturday.

Residents were asked to report any suspicious activity to police at 435-753-7555, the non-emergency dispatch number.
