Nathan Crispo and his girlfriend Ashely Fine ,who was a former sorority sister of Mackenzie Lueck, post and handout fliers pleading that people keep an eye out for her at Liberty Park in Salt Lake City on Saturday, June 22, 2019.

SALT LAKE CITY — Police are still looking for a University of Utah student a week after she went missing.

Friends and family have been handing out fliers and spreading the word online that they are worried about 23-year-old Mackenzie Lueck.

She missed midterms this week, and was supposed to fly back home to California on Sunday for a wedding, but did not get on the plane.

Lueck’s friends Ashley Fine and Kennedy Stoner said in a news conference held on Sunday outside of Salt Lake Police headquarters.

“For her not to reach out to me, Snapchat, Instagram, anything, is very unlike her,” said Kimberly Stoner.

“We think time is of the essence right now,” said Ashley Fine, standing by Stoner. “Things aren’t adding up. We think she’s in danger so we need to find her.”

Lueck has not been heard from since 1 AM last Monday when she told her family she landed at the Salt Lake International Airport after returning from her grandmothers funeral on Saturday in California.

“She texted her family when she landed at the airport, she wouldn’t have done that if she wanted to purposefully disappear,” Stoner said during that conference.

Police say that Lueck’s last known location was when she got a ride from a Lyft driver to a location they have not yet released in North Salt Lake. Police say the driver is not a suspect.

“Our primary goal is to find Mackenzie and bring her home,” said Fine, reading part of the family’s statement. “Her family is grateful for the concern, prayers and tireless efforts of the Salt Lake City police and members of the community.”

“Kenzie, if you can hear this, we are all worried, and we are looking out for you 24/7. We are not able to sleep,” said Stoner at the news conference. “Please let us know if you are safe.”

Police have not said they have any information to believe Lueck is in danger, but she is considered a missing person and they have set up a dedicated tip line for any information regarding Lueck.
