DWR asks hunters to report illegal activity this weekend

UTAH — As hunters head out for the start of the deer season this weekend, wildlife officials ask that they report any law breakers in the back country.
Mitch Lane, Captain with the Department of Wildlife Resources, said even if someone has a hunch that something is wrong they want to know.
“Happy to look into stuff and have it turn out to be nothing, as opposed to not getting information on a something that should be a case.” Lane said.
In all of Utah the DWR only employs 45 district officers. Lane says they’re spread thin and rely heavily on the eyes and ears of hunters in the field. If you see something, he asks that you gather as much information as possible and then either contact the DWR or your local police dispatch office.
