Some left Wednesday, but the bulk left Thursday morning after mobilizing at the Provo Towne Center.

The Northern Utah crews that rallied in Provo headed south to pick up more Southern Utah crews along the way to California.
The deployment is for two weeks, so they expect to be there until December 20th, but say it could be longer or shorter.
Utah will not be left in danger while these crews are gone. Others will be doing overtime or double shifts in case any fires break out here. Utah is now in house/indoor fire season and out of wildfire season, but in California, wildfire danger lasts all year long.
