EAST IDAHO — Four entire school districts over the border in Idaho remain closed today, because so many students are sick.
The Idaho State Journal reports that the Shelly, Firth, Jefferson, and Fremont School Districts all have suspended classes as parents called in telling schools their kids would be out with flu-like symptoms, strep throat and lots of cold viruses.
Even healthy children and teachers were told to stay home this week, to try and stop the spread of sickness as the schools plan to sanitize desks and surfaces to prevent the illnesses to continue to spread.
Seven other individual schools have also closed recently to try to get a handle on it.
It seems to be primarily centered in eastern Idaho which is the area of the state where they have the most absences and the most reported illnesses.
