The Sandy Club

Afterschool programs can improve students’ academic performance, reduce risky behaviors, promote physical health, and provide a safe, structured environment for children of working parents. Founder, Linda Martinez Saville, knew she needed to create such a place for those in her community, so in 1991 she opened The Sandy Club, A Safe Place for Boys and Girls.
What began as a double wide trailer over 25 years ago has become a fully-dedicated, safe place facility for hundreds of children each year and a legacy of compassion, determination, and service in Sandy City. They provide programs that engage youth in physical fitness, recreation, as well as support mental health and provide life skills training. Most of the children served are from low-income households and need the support from The Sandy Club each day.
