Salt Lake’s pro-football Stallions run out of time

SALT LAKE CITY — The Alliance of American Football, the professional league behind the Salt Lake Stallions, plans to suspend all operations, according to multiple reports.
KSL Sports is reporting the AAF’s new owner, Tom Dundon, plans to stop operations against the wishes of the league’s co-founders.

Dundon, who also owns the NHL’s Carolina Hurricanes, spent $70 million in February to help cover payroll for the AAF.
The pro-football league still had two weeks left in its regular seasons, plus an expected two weeks of postseason play that likely won’t happen now.

Salt Lake City was one of eight markets with an AAF pro-football team. The Stallions will wrap-up what is now likely to be their only season with a 3-5 record.
