SALT LAKE CITY, Utah — Prepare for some pain at the pump. Utah’s gas prices have jumped up 13.5 cents in the last week according to 24/7 Wall Street which puts the average gallon above $3 a gallon on average.
That’s the highest jump of any state in the nation.
We are still weeks away from Memorial Day but it feels like this is already ramping up to summer driving demand. AAA says Americans can expect the national average to likely surpass 2018’s high of $2.97 a gallon set during Memorial Day weekend.
GasBuddy.com has a low for the state of $2.73, but that’s in Salina.
Gas stations in downtown Salt Lake City on Wednesday morning showed prices from $3.05 to $3.09 to $3.13 a gallon for regular unleaded.
