SALT LAKE CITY — The Utah Department of Environmental Quality reports that Davis County is nearing unhealthy levels of ozone.
The DEQ says most counties in Utah are in the moderate ozone range, but that Davis County is at the “Unhealthy for Sensitive Groups” boundary.
According to the DEQ’s webpage ozone becomes unhealthy for sensitive groups when it falls between 0.086 and 0.105 ppm.
In the case of ozone, sensitive groups include people with lung diseases such as asthma. Older adults, children and teenagers and people who are active outdoors also fall within this group.
The DEQ suggests that those in the sensitive group limit outdoor exertion Tuesday afternoon.
