Voter Registration Day: how to register to vote in Utah

SALT LAKE CITY — Election Day may still be more than 6 weeks away but Tuesday is Voter Registration Day – the perfect time to register to vote or check your voter status.

Since 2012, the fourth Tuesday in September has been designated as Voter Registration Day and was began to “create broad awareness of voter registration opportunities.”

Last year during Voter Registration Day more than 800,000 people that registered to vote.

How to register to vote in Utah

In Utah, voter registration or a change to your address can be done online at vote.utah.gov.

To register to vote in Utah you’ll need to:

Be a citizen of the United States

Have lived in Utah for 30 days before the election

Be at least 18 years old on or before the next election

Not be a convicted felon currently incarcerated for the commission of a felony

Have a valid Utah Driver Licence that matches your current address

If you’ve already registered to vote before, you don’t need to register again. To find out if you have previously registered and to check your status you can find that information at vote.utah.gov under Find my voter registration info.
