The Conference Center will be at half capacity this weekend for General Conference. It's the first time since April 2019 that Church members were allowed to attend General Conference in person. Salt Lake Chamber President Derek Miller says those coming downtown this weekend will give a boost to the Salt Lake economy.

The weekend of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ General Conference, KSL NewsRadio Features Special General Conference shows. This season’s shows are guaranteed to give you peace and happiness. This year KSL Host Jeff Caplan will take you into the new homeless resource centers in Utah. Boyd Matheson discusses Salt Lake City’s reputation and its growing profile as an international city. And KSL NewsRadio reporter Mary Richards takes you to Haiti for the newest temple dedication on Labor Day 2019. All this and more during the Fall Sessions of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints’ General Conference weekend. Here’s the full General Conference Special schedule:

SATURDAY

12:00 PM             Making a Difference – KSL shines a light on efforts to help Utahns in crisis. — with Jeff Caplan

KSL NewsRadio’s Jeff Caplan takes an in-depth look at some of Utah’s most marginalized populations. Utah has an ongoing homelessness issue. So Jeff looks at the current situation of Salt Lake’s new resource centers. But what are the challenges faced by the Midvale resource center and the surrounding community? One local company, The Other Side Academy, is helping formerly incarcerated individuals. Jeff also breaks down what Utahns are doing for the elderly in their local communities.

1:00 PM               Crossroads to the West, Crossroads to the World — with Boyd Matheson

Salt Lake City’s starting to define its reputation as an international city. Deseret News’ Opinion Editor Boyd Matheson dives into the United Nations conference that took place in SLC in August. There were some really incredible national attendees. Plus, how was Salt Lake City able to host such a prestigious international conference?

Several couples and individuals are participating in KSL NewsRadio’s $1,000 challenge campaign being hosted by Dave Noriega and Debbie Dujanovic. Dave and Debbie are starting to learn what roadblocks the participants faced. But, working to save money has changed these listeners’ lives.
