If you’re a mayo fan, this might just be the best thing since sliced bread. If you’re not, well, this might be one of the nastiest things you’ll see today.
Social media has lit up with praise and disgust after Japanese food company Bourbon announced that they will be selling slices of mayonnaise.
The company says that they are starting to sell their sliced mayo in two different and distinct flavors: tuna and cod roe.
Slices of flavored mayo will available for sale in Japan starting in March as part of their “easy cooking” series meant to decrease cooking times and promote mental and physical health, Bourbon says.
A four-pack of the individually wrapped mayo slices will sell for $1.80.

Attention World:
We have now entered The Age of Mayonnaise Slices, as was foretold by my Japanese ancestors.
(They did not, however, promise dark or white chocolate by the slice. Added bonus.)#food #mayo #chocolate #Bourbon #SheetLikeCondiment https://t.co/PslsMeMjq1 pic.twitter.com/r1v4rtLplu
