COVID-19 How to Help
Apr 27, 2020, 8:00 AM
The novel coronavirus, COVID-19 is creating new needs across our state. Families are struggling to get food and childcare, seniors are feeling lonely without visitors, and nonprofits everywhere are fighting to meet clients’ needs.
So, how can you help? First, stay home to keep others safe and be bold about your social distancing so we can prevent the spread of the virus.
Show appreciation for our frontline workers like grocery store clerks, nurses, janitors, or mail carriers by saying “thank you”. Support local stores by shopping online or buying a gift card to use later. If you are in the financial position to do so, consider making a donation to your favorite nonprofit or visit coronavirus.utah.gov to get some ideas.
We may feel physically isolated at this time, but we should not be emotionally isolated. Write a letter, text, email, or call someone who may be feeling lonely.
SelectHealth recognizes the small acts of kindness in our community as another example of how Utah Gives Back.
