SALT LAKE CITY — Multiple large wildfires have been reported by Utah Fire Info Tuesday. The largest of them was started by fireworks.

Turkey Farm Road Fire

According to Utah Fire Info, the Turkey Farm Road Fire has been burning since 9:10 p.m. on Monday night and crews have been working all day to put it out.

The wildfire is burning 3 miles west of Washington City in Washington County and has been estimated to be over 1662 acres in size.

Investigators have determined that it was human-caused and that fireworks ignited the fire.

No matter what time of year, fireworks are never allowed in the area where the fire was ignited, according to Utah Fire Info.

The fire closed down many roads including Turkey Track Rd., Danish Ranch Rd., BLM Road 901, Winchester Trail Road, Icehouse Trail, Yellow Knolls Trail, Black Gulch Trail, Middleton Trail, and Mesa Rim Trail.

A red flag warning was put into effect today in the area where the wildfire was burning and only a few homes in Green Springs were evacuated. It is reported by Utah Fire Info that those evacuees should be returning home soon.
