Teens charged in connection with Traverse Fire

SALT LAKE CITY — Two teenagers have been charged with reckless burning, setting off fireworks in a restricted area, and the possession of illegal fireworks in connection with the Traverse Fire that started on Traverse Mountain in Lehi, Utah at the end of June.
A spokeswoman for Lehi City says the teenagers are not from Lehi.
Melanie Hansen said the estimated cost of the Traverse Mountain fire is now $415,000.
Residents of three housing developments in Lehi were evacuated overnight because of the Traverse Fire. In all, about 100 homes were evacuated.
