D.I. employee hospitalized after being struck by customers vehicle

MURRAY — A Deseret Industries employee was hospitalized Friday after a customer reportedly drove off from the loading area hitting him in the process.
Police say the employee was helping the customer load items and when he asked for the receipt for verification, the customer refused got in his vehicle and sped away.
The D.I. employee was reportedly hit by the vehicle’s trailer as it was driving off.
A woman who identified herself as the mother of the hospitalized employee posted about the incident on the Murray Citizens Facebook group.
“The man got in his vehicle and gunned it knocking my son over,” said Wendy Willes. “The trailer ran him over.”
She said that among other injuries, her son’s knee was dislocated and his femur was broken.
Police say there is no video footage of the incident from the D.I. at this point and that the incident is still under investigation.
