Former Viewmont High, NFL star Greg Clark passes away

VIEWMONT, Utah — Former Viewmont High star and NFL tight end Greg Clark passed away earlier this month as announced by his family on July 9.
The cause of death was not disclosed, but Clark’s family said his passing was unexpected.
“It is with great sadness we announce the unexpected passing of Greg Clark, 49, cherished husband, father, son, brother and friend to so many,” the family statement said. “Greg was a dedicated family man who was successful at everything he did.”
Clark was a third-round selection by the San Francisco 49ers in the 1997 NFL Draft. He played four seasons in the NFL, all with the 49ers.
For his career, Clark caught 92 passes for 909 yards and four touchdowns in 55 games played.

After Clark’s playing days at Viewmont, he went on to play at Ricks College (now BYU-Idaho) in Rexburg, Idaho. From there, Clark went on to play at Stanford University for two seasons. He finished his career with the Cardinal with 43 catches for 492 yards and three touchdowns.
