In order to understand another culture, appreciate its heritage, and foster relationships we must learn and listen from that culture. GK Folks Foundation welcomes diverse traditions, beliefs, and perspectives by celebrating them. Their dream is to enable African Immigrants and Refugees to build lifelong skills in order to accomplish their American Dream by providing mental health, educational and entrepreneurial resources, and workshops.
GK Folks Foundation’s annual event called the Afro Utah Festival, is a cultural event that provides Black, African, and black immigrants the opportunity to share their talents, creations, food, and stories with the community. It will highlight, promote, and recognize Afro black culture and the great work they are doing.
The Afro Utah Festival is on Saturday, August 14th at the Gallivan Center in Salt Lake City. Come enjoy performances, food, art, and learn more about other cultures. To buy a ticket visit afroutah.org.
SelectHealth recognizes the powerful inclusion provided by GK Folks Foundation as another example of how Utah Gives Back.
