Two men arrested after allegedly kidnapping another man, forcing him to withdraw money

CEDAR CITY, Utah — Two men were arrested on Sunday in Iron County for allegedly kidnapping another man and forcing him at gunpoint to withdraw money from an ATM.
According to police documents, Cedar City police were notified of a man with a gun at Maverik on Sunday afternoon.
Later, a second call came into authorities of a man with a gun at a Love’s. When police arrived on the scene at Love’s, they found a victim who had been left there. Authorities say, the victim told them two individuals came to the hotel where he was staying at and forced their way into the room.
Once inside the hotel room, the two suspects took the victim to Maverik and allegedly forced the victim withdraw money from an ATM at gunpoint.
Money from a second ATM
In an effort to get more money from the victim, the two suspects then took the individual to an ATM at Love’s. Additionally, the suspects also stole the victim’s phone.
Employees at Love’s provided law enforcement officials with surveillance images of the suspects. During the course of the investigation, authorities were able to track down where the suspects may be staying.
When police arrived, both suspects were at the residence located at 338 E. and 575 N. The suspects have been identified as Stewart Lanza and Avery Holyelkface.
Lanza was arrested on a warrant; police described him as accomplice in the alleged events. Lanza gave police permission to search their house for the phone. The phone was found in a couch with a magazine of live ammunition.
Holyelkface, 35, was arrested for investigation of aggravated assault, kidnapping, burglary of a dwelling, theft and aggravated robbery. He was booked into the Iron County Jail.
