CENTERVILLE, Utah — Two people were injured, when a car hit another car and crashed into a Centerville home on Friday night.

At approximately 6:00 p.m. on Friday, the driver of a silver Subaru Outback drove northbound on 400 West. Although the residential road has a speed limit of 25 mph, the driver was moving at speeds of 85 mph.

Centerville police reported the driver, identified as Brandon Paul Levie, sped through the Chase Lane intersection and “obliterated” a crosswalk slow sign. Levie continued northbound on 400 W, and passed through a stop sign intersection at Jennings Ln and 1700 N without stopping.

Levie then side swept a vehicle and sent it into a mailbox of 1776 North and 400 West. He continued on, drove across two front lawns and went airborne. The ‘reckless driver’s’ car impacted the home of 1776 N and 400 W.

Lt. Allen Ackerson with the Centerville Police Department said that the victim of the first crash, who was sent into a mailbox, was wearing a seatbelt and suffered minor injuries.

Ackerson said the home Levie crashed into was unoccupied at the time.

Centerville resident, 39-year-old Brandon Levie, was transported to a hospital in Murray. He was found only to have minor scrapes.

Levie was determined to be incoherent and driving under the influence of a controlled substance. Officers located MDMA (Molly, Ecstasy) in his shoes. They also obtained a warrant to test his blood.

Officers booked Levie into Davis County Jail on charges of driving under the influence, possession of a controlled substance, possession of drugs, leaving the scene of an accident, reckless driving, and criminal mischief.
