Springville man arrested for allegedly having child porn on his cell phone

SPRINGVILLE, Utah — A 54-year-old Springville man has been arrested and booked into the Utah County Jail for investigation of four counts of sexual exploitation of a minor, which are all second-degree felonies, according to the Utah County Sheriff’s Office.
According to a Utah County Sheriff’s Office press release, detectives with the Utah County Sheriff’s Office received a tip on March 29 of a man who allegedly had child porn on his cell phone.
Police say the phone was examined and four images were found depicting boys ranging in age between 8 and 16 years old.
According to police, the suspect, Kevin Sykes, held in a position in his church where he worked with young men of that age.
A judge set bail at $5,000 for Sykes, according to the press release.
Detectives are asking anyone who may have also been a victim of Sykes to call 801-851-4010.
