SALT LAKE CITY — A motorcyclist died in an accident early Tuesday morning. The crash happened on northbound I-15 at the Salt Lake and Davis County border.
The accident resulted in the closure of I-15 northbound at the Salt Lake and Davis County line, as well as the northbound Beck Street onramp.
According to Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Cam Roden, “[A] preliminary investigation shows that the motorcycle was getting onto I-15 from the US-89 NB on-ramp. The driver lost control and went off to the right and hit the barrier and overturned into traffic where they were hit by two other vehicles.”
Roden stated that the motorcyclist died at the scene and that speed is being investigated as a contributor to the crash.
