WEBER COUNTY, Utah — The Weber County Sheriff’s Office says a private plane made an emergency landing Thursday afternoon in the western part of Weber County.
According to the Sheriff’s Office, area dispatch received a call of a plane making an emergency landing at about 12:30 p.m.

The plane, with just the pilot onboard, landed in an area west of West Haven and Hooper. The Sheriff’s Office says another plane was in the area. The pilot of that plane was able to provide emergency personnel with directions on where the plane had landed.
The Sheriff’s Office says the pilot reported mechanical failure, which caused him to land.
Due to the remote location, a drone team from the Sheriff’s Office was among the emergency personnel to respond. According to the Sheriff’s Office, the team was able to quickly locate the plane. With a river in the way, however, it took emergency personnel some time and effort to get to the plane.
Ogden Police, Weber County Fire and Weber County Search and Rescue were among the other emergency agencies to respond to the scene.
The pilot sustained no injuries in the incident. The plane had little, if any, damage, according to the Sheriff’s Office.
