Bountiful police arrest suspect who caused temporary lockdown

BOUNTIFUL, UTAH — Bountiful High School was placed on a temporary lockdown for about 20 minutes yesterday.
Bountiful Police responded to a report of shots fired when the principal placed the school on a lockout status, said a press release from the Bountiful PD.
The report was of an aggravated assault that took place in a parking lot at 640 South 750 East in Bountiful. According to police, a weapon was fired during a dispute between two minors. No injuries were reported.
Police said the suspect fled in a vehicle. Initially, police were unable to find the suspect, leading to the lockout status being lifted and students getting released at their regular time.
Today, the suspect was arrested and was booked into juvenile detention for aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of a dangerous weapon, and discharge of a firearm within Bountiful City limits.
