SALT LAKE CITY — Elder Neil L. Andersen, of the Quorum of the Twelve Apostles of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, is visiting the South Pacific this week.

Elder Andersen, along with his wife, Kathy, were in Wellington, New Zealand over the weekend. They met with leaders, missionaries and friends of the church, sharing a message of love, faith and hope.

“The testimony of Jesus Christ, to a large extent, will rest upon your shoulders,” Elder Andersen said Sunday to a congregation of area church leaders. “There are other good people in this country. But your responsibility, and mine, is to pray deeply that the spirit of the Lord will be with us. So, we can understand what we can do to lift and strengthen our brothers and sisters, help those coming into the Church, and those not in the Church, to come to Jesus Christ.”

During his talk, Elder Andersen expressed a desire that each individual will feel of God’s love. He added that he hoped this love would lead to greater obedience and faith.

Later this week, Elder Andersen and his wife will visit Fiji and Australia.
