Recent snowfall causes school bus to get stuck in Mendon

MENDON, Utah — Recent snowfall throughout the state caused a school bus with nine kids on board to get stuck this morning in Mendon, Utah.
According to Tim Smith with Cache County Sheriff’s Department, the District’s 4-wheel vehicles picked up and transported the children to school around 8:30 a.m., after being notified the bus got stuck.
On the route the school bus typically takes, four children were waiting in the snowfall to be picked up. And therefore, another bus was sent to get them.
Before the kids were assisted by other means of transportation, community members hurried to the scene to help.
Members of the community gave the children fruit snacks and came equipped with snow blowers.
Reportedly, children inside the bus had good spirits and stayed hopeful that school would be closed for the day.
