SALT LAKE CITY — The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints has just changed the renovation completion date of the Salt Lake Temple from 2025 to 2026.
“When working with historic structures such as this pioneer-era temple, unexpected challenges are inevitable,” wrote the Church of Jesus Christ.
Additionally, the Salt Lake Temple has undergone a new milestone in construction. According to the church, crews have poured concrete for the footing of the first base isolator located underneath the temple. Insolation will begin next month.
Sidewalk restrictions and changes to landscaping will also occur and have estimated finish times for next year.
The church said it has yet to determine a final completion date and temple open house schedule. The church said it would continue giving updates about the temple renovation to the public.
