LAYTON, Utah — According to police, Sunburst Elementary in the Davis District was placed on lockdown this afternoon, but has since been lifted and everyone is safe.
The school is located in Layton, at 2504 W. Sunburst Drive, 84041.
Lieutenant Travis Lyman with the Layton Police Department said they received a call saying someone heard gunshots and that is why the school went into lockdown.
Furthermore, he told KSL Newsradio that although police didn’t see an immediate threat, they took the precaution of locking down the school to investigate.
Students are now able to enter the school.
