Flash flood warning issued for portion of Little Cottonwood Canyon in Salt Lake County

SALT LAKE CITY — The National Weather Service has issued a flash flood warning for portions of Salt Lake County.

According to a tweet, the flash flood warning was issued after public reports of flash flooding near the town of Alta, in Little Cottonwood Canyon.
The National Weather Service reported that water and debris were crossing SR-210, creating potentially hazardous driving conditions.
When reached for comment, the Unified Fire and Police Authorities said they were not aware of any emergencies in the area related to flooding. The Utah Highway Patrol also said they haven’t received any calls related to an emergency, and that there were no current road closures.
