One man dead another in critical condition in Midway altercation

MIDWAY, Utah — The Wasatch County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call Monday evening stating a man had been stabbed and another shot.
The calls came in around 6:30 p.m. to the Swiss Mountain Estates, a cabin area west of Midway. Wasatch County Fire responded also responded to assist with the scene.
According to a news release, a 53-year-old man was transported by helicopter to Utah Valley Hospital where he underwent surgery for his stab wounds. He is listed in stable condition.
The release also states that a 25-year-old man used a knife to attack his 53-year-old father. The release further states that several 911 callers said the father was able to use a firearm to defend himself.
A 25-year-old male was pronounced deceased at the scene.
Authorities say there are no threats or safety concerns to the public.
The names of those involved are not being released at this time an investigation is ongoing.
