Man hit, killed in SLC parking garage

SALT LAKE CITY — An accident in Salt Lake City on Tuesday morning left one man dead.
The Salt Lake City Police Department received a call around 5:35 a.m. from a male driver who reported hitting someone in a parking garage near 550 West 200 South.
Salt Lake City Fire Department paramedics responded to the scene. They took the male victim to the hospital, where he later died.
Detectives believe the man was on the ground sleeping against the parking garage door when the incident occurred.
SLCPD said there was no evidence to suggest the crash was intentional. The driver remained on scene and is cooperating with authorities.
According to a press release from SLCPD, officers are working with the medical examiner’s office to confirm the identity and age of the man who died and to notify his next of kin.
