ST. GEORGE, Utah — A high-speed pursuit started in St. George Saturday and ended in Mesquite, Arizona.
Sargent Wyatt Oliver with Mesquite PD told KSL that it is believed the driver died by suicide
St. George police received a call Saturday evening about a suspicious vehicle by a home near the Bloomington Country Club. Police said the man’s vehicle had been stolen out of Spanish Fork.
They said the man tried to break into a home but was confronted by the homeowner. He then threatened the homeowner with a weapon before leaving.
An officer was able to locate the driver based on his license plate and attempted to stop him, but after the man continued officers pursued him all the way through Nevada and into Arizona.
Police said the man carjacked a vehicle in Mesquite, but eventually stopped driving and fled on foot. They said after fleeing, he reportedly took his own life.
