DRAPER, Utah — Draper City announced Thursday that it will open a new glass recycling bin in the city.
The new bin will be at IKEA’s Draper location, according to a press release. It is the result of a collaboration between IKEA, Draper City, and Momentum Recycling.
Those who want to use the bin will not need to remove labels from the glass. And different colored glass does not have to be separated, said Momentum Recycling.
From the bin, the glass will be taken to a Momentum Recycling facility. There, it will be processed and turned into fiberglass insulation and filtration media.
Momentum Recycling operates over 70 glass drop-off bins across Utah, according to the press release.
“This project was truly a collaborative community effort,” said Andrea Rivers, Loyalty Manager at IKEA Draper.
“We are proud to be the location for this glass recycling bin,” Rivers added.
IKEA will host an unveiling celebration on October 6 at 1:30 p.m. which Draper Mayor Troy Walker is expected to attend.
