SANDY, Utah — A person died after being hit by a TRAX train Monday, closing a TRAX station and shutting down nearby traffic.

According to Utah Transit Authority Spokesperson Carl Arky, the person was hit in the early afternoon at the Historic Sandy TRAX station.

Arky said UTA Police think the person hit is a woman, but haven’t confirmed that yet.

The TRAX station is closed and there’s a bus bridge from Historic Sandy to Midvale Center. The UTA said riders can expect delays from 10 to 15 minutes.

9000 South is closed between 200 and 300 East. There’s no word on how long the closure will last.

Arky said authorities are still investigating the crash.
