WJPD responds to shooting Sunday morning

WEST JORDAN, Utah — The West Jordan Police Department responded to a shooting early Sunday morning. The WJPD is currently looking for a suspect.
According to Officer Aleya Mason with the WJPD, at approximately 5:04 a.m. police received a report of someone being shot at the Geneva Village Apartments.
Mason said both the male suspect and male victim had fled the scene prior to the authority’s arrival. However, the victim was located shortly after and transported to an area hospital. He is currently at the hospital in critical condition, according to Mason.
At this time, the suspect has not been caught. The WJPD does not believe there is any current threat to the public.
The investigation is ongoing.
