Police investigating fatal accident in Kimball Junction

KIMBALL JUNCTION, Utah — One person is dead after a fatal car accident in Kimball Junction Sunday.
According to a Park City Fire Department post to X, formerly known as Twitter, the incident took place around 12 p.m.
10.22.23 12:00pm PCFD was dispatched to a two car fatal accident at Rasmussen Road and Bitner Road intersection. One vehicle rolled and the patient was ejected. One patient was transported by ambulance in stable condition.

The accident happened at the intersection of Rasmussen Road and Bitner Road.
“There was a driver of a mid-sized truck who was traveling in excessive speed,” KSL NewsRadio’s Joe Davis who was at the scene said. “By the time they realized they were coming up on stopped traffic at the light, they could no longer stop.”
Davis said, following this, the mid-sized truck struck a SUV.
According to PCFD, one person was ejected from their car. Another has been transported to an area hospital in stable condition.
“Fortunately they (SUV driver) were able to walk away,” Davis said.
At this time the intersection is closed.
The Summit County Sheriff’s Office said in a Facebook post multiple agencies are on the scene. The investigation is ongoing.
