Apartment fire in West Jordan

WEST JORDAN, Utah — A fire was reported at 6885 S. Redwood Rd. The West Jordan Fire Department received the call at 11:25 and arrived promptly at 11:30.
Upon arrival, crews determined that the incident involved a minor fire with smoke damage. The incident was contained in a single apartment.
As a precaution, dogs kept in a kennel were safely evacuated and unharmed. The occupants of the apartment were not present at the time of the incident. They can enter their home when the fire crews have cleaned up and left.
The source of the fire was traced to the kitchen; however, the exact cause is under investigation.
Once the affected area is cleaned and made safe, the owners will be permitted to return to their apartment.
