PARK CITY, Utah — On Nov. 3, the Park City Community Foundation will host its annual fundraiser, Live PC Give PC. The annual event helps fund nonprofit organizations in Summit County.
According to Joel Zarrow, the CEO of Park City Community Foundation, said this year’s event will raise money for 124 nonprofits. The money will go to causes such as education, animal services, and hiking trail maintenance.
Zarrow said the event has a huge impact on Summit County communities. “Anyone who has come [to Park City] has felt the impact of nonprofits, and Live PC Give PC is our collective chance to give back to the nonprofits who’ve helped us so much,” said Zarrow.
Nonprofits play a huge role in the community, according to Zarrow. They provide services that are vital to the community such as medical care. They also provide entertainment and access to the arts.
“[They are] the backbone that make our community work,” Zarrow said. “They’re asked to do many things that local government and businesses don’t do,” he added.
Live PC Give PC helps many local nonprofits build their budget for the year, according to Zarrow. Last year, the event raised $5.2 million for Summit County nonprofits.
Getting involved in Live PC Give PC
There are several ways to get involved and support nonprofits, according to Zarrow.
Those interested in donating can visit Live PC Give PC’s website on November 3rd. The minimum donation amount is $5. Donors can choose which area their money goes to.
Secondly, the Park City Community Foundation will host two parties on the day of the event.
“From 4 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., We’re holding a family-friendly party for all ages right outside the city library at a cafe called ‘Lucky Ones.’ There’s going to be music, free tacos, hot chocolate, face painting, and games,” Zarrow said.
The second party will be a 21+ event held at High West Distillery. That one will begin at 8 p.m. “Have a drink [and] celebrate the nonprofits,” said Zarrow.
Zarrow said another great way to get involved is by signing up to volunteer at a nonprofit that is meaningful to you.
