Pilot found dead after plane crash in Emery County

EMERY COUNTY, Utah — The Emery County Sheriff’s Office said it found the pilot of a downed plane dead on Saturday, just a day after finding the wreckage from the crash.
The plane crashed on Friday, the ECSO said, somewhere in the mountains west of Huntington, Utah. Its only passenger was the pilot.
Emergency crews found the wreckage of the plane just hours after the search started. Based on the wreck, crews knew the crash wasn’t survivable and called off the search for the pilot until Saturday.
Crews found and recovered the pilot’s body Saturday morning.
The ECSO said the National Transportation Safety Board would investigate the crash.
