Man shot, critically injured in Hooper Tuesday night

A man is in critical condition after being shot on Tuesday, Oct.31 in Hooper, Utah.

HOOPER, Weber County — Weber County sheriff’s deputies arrested a woman accused of shooting a man who is now hospitalized in critical condition.

Deputies responded to the area of 6200 West and 5700 South in Hooper at 10:57 p.m. Tuesday after a woman called to report she had shot someone, according to Weber County Sheriff’s Lt. Colby Ryan. A 43-year-old man was found at the scene with a gunshot wound. He was taken to the hospital in critical condition.

The woman was arrested near the residence for investigation of shooting the man, Ryan said.

The investigation is still ongoing and more information was not available. Deputies believe the shooting is an isolated incident and said there is no ongoing threat to the community.
