MOUNTAIN GREEN, Utah — A fire in Mountain Green claimed a house Saturday morning in the Rawlins Ranch Subdivision.

The Mountain Green Fire Department was notified at approximately 6:00 a.m. Upon their arrival, firefighting crews battled the active flames for about three hours.

In response to the emergency, four agencies were on the scene to contain and manage the situation. Among these were the Mountain Green Fire Department and Morgan Fire & EMS.

Fire Chief Brian Brendel revealed that, fortunately, the homeowners were not present in the house at the time of the fire.

However, there was uncertainty about the presence of cats in the residence, as opposed to any dogs.

Authorities say that the fire was contained in a single building, the intensity of the flames caused windows in adjacent homes to crack due to the extreme heat.

As investigators look into the incident, Chief Brendel reported that they have been unable to pinpoint an ignition source at this point.

Currently, the scene is under investigation, and investigators have not been able to find an ignition source.

Unfortunately, the two-story single-family home collapsed entirely, rendering it a total loss.

Cheif Brendel estimates the recovery efforts to reach a significant six-figure sum.

More details may be added as information becomes available.
