MIDWAY, Utah — Following an unusually warm December, the Midway Ice Castles are set to open on January 15. The frozen experience will be at Soldier Hollow Nordic Center.
According to a press release, “ice artisans are working around the clock” to bring the castles to life. The display was initially planned to open on January 13, however, conditions made that date unfeasible.
“Mother Nature has thrown us a few challenges this season, which delayed our opening. While winter doesn’t always come on our schedule, we’re thankful that it does come eventually,” said Kyle Standifird, the Ice Castles CEO.
According to the Ice Castles website, visitors will experience icy tunnels, slides, and archways. Additionally, ice sculptures that were hand-carved by a world-renowned ice sculptor will be on display.
Additionally, the press release said a soda bar has been added to the Midway Ice Castles wonderland this year. It will offer winter-themed drinks to guests.
Sleigh rides are also offered at an additional cost, per the Ice Castles website. Those who are interested in visiting can find more details and purchase tickets at the Ice Castles Website.
