NEW YORK — The defense and prosecution offered closing remarks on Tuesday during the hush money trial of former President Donald Trump.

It was a day for pointing fingers according to the Associated Press. Prosecutors reportedly told jurors the former president “engaged in a conspiracy and cover-up.” While lawyers for the defense called Michael Cohen, one of the prosecution’s witnesses “the greatest liar of all time.”

“The words that Michael Cohen said to you on that stand — they matter. He took an oath, he swore to tell the truth, and he told you a number of things on that witness stand that were lies, pure and simple,” defense attroney Todd Blanche said in court, according to ABC news.

Former President Donald Trump faces felony charges related to a hush money payment made to Stormy Daniels, an adult film actress, in 2016.
