DRAPER, Utah — Fire officials in Draper have closed a portion of 700 East due to runoff from Willow Creek. The closure is expected to remain overnight.
In a post on X, Draper officials said that Willow Creek water was “high enough that it is pushing up out of the City’s storm drain system.”

The water is exiting the storm drain system, officials said, and flooding the road.
“Draper City’s Storm Drain Division is coordinating with Salt Lake County to hold the flows in their detention basin upstream,” Draper officials said in a Facebook post.
Officials hope that the move by Salt Lake County will allow Draper crews enough time to drain the storm drain on Friday morning.
They will then “install a plug to prevent this flooding for the remainder of the heavy spring runoff,” officials said on Facebook.
