Man dies after vehicle is ‘fully engulfed’ in flames

SALT LAKE CITY — About 3:18 a.m. Saturday morning state troopers responded to a crash of a single car.
The car was on I-80 near the Bangerter Highway interchange to the Salt Lake International Airport. It had veered off the road to the right and struck a bridge support column head on.
According to the Department of Public Safety, “the vehicle was fully engulfed and was actively burning.”
When the fire was extinguished, the driver had suffered fatal injuries.
