Man arrested at Salt Lake City International Airport

SALT LAKE CITY — A 28-year-old man was arrested at the Salt Lake City International Airport on Sunday. According to police, he assaulted two people before trying to disarm officers.
A press release identified the man as Scott Hollis.
Allegedly, Hollis punched a 20-year-old man and choked a 17-year-old in the SLC International Airport passenger pick-up area.
The press release said that the incident was reported at 5:07 p.m.
Two Salt Lake City Police Department officers were at the Salt Lake City International Airport for an unrelated case. They tried to arrest Hollis.
However, he attempted to take a gun from one of the officers. Then, he reached out, managing to grab a TASER from the other officer. It did not activate and was safely recovered, per the press release.
After Hollis was arrested, he was booked into the Salt Lake County Metro Jail on two charges of disarming a police officer, aggravated assault, and interfering with arrest.
One of the officers received a minor injury.
The press release said that Hollis’ motive is still under investigation. However, the press release said he may have been intoxicated.
Airport operations were not disrupted by the incident.
