SALT LAKE CITY — As the U.S. general election nears, more questions are being asked about how artificial intelligence is used in political campaigns.
Listen 👇 to KSL at Night co-host Taylor Morgan.
For example, Reuters reported that the FCC is split over whether political advertisers on broadcast radio and television must disclose if content within the ad was created by AI.
In May, the Associated Press reported about an FBI concern that foreign adversaries may try to interfere with the U.S. election by spreading disinformation.
The Verge reports that a political consultant responsible for AI robocalls could face a $6 million fine. Steve Kramer allegedly created a “deepfake generative AI voice message,” urging voters not to vote in New Hampshire’s 2024 primary.
And ABC has reported that AI could make or break a political campaign.
We’ll speak with KSL@Night host and political consultant Taylor Morgan about the potential upsides and downsides of using AI on the campaign trail.
