LINDON, Utah — Multiple fire agencies responded to a landfill fire in Lindon on Tuesday afternoon.
Smoke from the fire was visible on UDOT traffic cameras originating from a landfill at 2000 West 200 South.
Assistant Orem Fire Chief Shawn Hirst said the fire began when someone brought something to the landfill that later ignited.
But officials don’t know what started the fire. “We will likely never know what was dropped off to ignite the fire,” Hirst said.
