Costco raising membership fees for first time in seven years

SALT LAKE CITY — Costco plans to raise membership fees starting in September, the company announced on Wednesday. It’s been seven years since the company raised its membership fees.
Costco said the changes would be effective on Sept. 1 this year.
Which customers are affected by the Costco membership fee increase?
The change will affect the over 700 Costco stores throughout the U.S. and Canada.
Gold Star and business membership fees for U.S. and Canadian customers will go up by $5, raising the annual price to $65.
The company’s executive memberships will also see a price increase, going from $120 to $130 a year.
The last time Costco raised its membership fees was in 2017.
